Recurve’s Technology is Being Acquired by Tendril
Tendril, the provider of the cloud platform for the Energy Internet, is acquiring some of Recurve’s technology and intellectual property. It will retain Recurve’s current employees who will become part of Tendril’s West Coast operations.
Tendril provides the leading software platform for residential energy management. It will be incorporating the Recurve software into its platform to better serve its customers that include utilities as well as the makers of ‘smart’ products and services.
As a result, Recurve will no longer be selling or delivering its software directly as a standalone product.
What does this mean for existing Recurve customers?
As a Recurve customer, we wanted to provide you with information to ensure a smooth transition off of Recurve software.
Current Recurve software customers will be supported through March 23rd, 2012 at no charge, and are encouraged to download all of their data (residences) from the system prior to this date. Instructions for this download procedure are provided below.
Customers will not be charged for software usage between February 1, 2012 and March 23rd, 2012 and should use this period to actively transition to another software provider. Recurve servers will be turned off March 23rd at 5pm PST.
How do I download my data (residences) from my Recurve Server?
Recurve will provide complete data backups for each software customer at two intervals between now and March 23rd.
- The first will occur on February 24th, 2012
- The final backup will occur on March 20th, 2012
These backups will be delivered to a private FTP site that you will each be invited to via email. The backed up data will be in the JSON file format (machine readable) and viewable with a parser such as http://json.parser.online.fr/ . The photos will be delivered to the FTP site in zipped folders.
In addition, you will continue to have the option of manually exporting each residence in a less complete, but more human friendly format until March 23rd, 2012 by following these steps:
- Log into the online version of your Recurve software instance.
- Select the residence you want to export from the Master Residence list on the “All Houses” tab, and let it load.
- From the “Details” tab, select the “Calculations” button in the top right corner of the screen and then choose “DOE Metrics” (or “CBPCA” if you are in California).
- A new tab will open in your browser displaying the summarized residence data along with a hyperlink at the top of the page. Click the hyperlink to download a Microsoft Excel formatted file (*.xls) with all of the summary data, but no photos.
- Save this file to an appropriate folder.
Who can I contact if I have any questions?
Recurve is solely responsible for the transition of its existing customers and all inquiries about how to download your data and receive more information on the transition should be directed to:
