Andy Leventhal

CEO

Andy Leventhal
Andy Leventhal comes to Recurve with 24 years of experience in software sales and marketing.  Most recently, he served as the founding CEO of Planet Metrics, a company that targeted manufacturers who needed tools to model, analyze and manage the carbon and energy consumed by their supply chain.  He was instrumental in selling this company to Parametric Technology (PTC) in January 2010.  Prior to that Andy served as the VP of Business Development/Channels for Sana Security (intrusion prevention) and held similar positions at Imperva (web/database security).  Earlier in his career Andy, held leadership positions in business development at Red Hat (the leader in enterprise Linux), and served as one of the founders of VeriSign (the leader in digital certificates).

Andy calls himself a closet DIYer, meaning he is happiest when engaged in some home improvement project.  An avid football and basketball fan, Andy is proud that he hasn’t missed a televised Pittsburgh Steeler’s game in 8 years, thanks to TiVo.  Andy spends his spare time with his wife and 2 children and enjoys mentoring recent college graduates and early career professionals on how best to prepare themselves in the work force, no small feat in today’s economy with its high unemployment rates among this demographic.

He is currently advising The Natural Capital Project, Coyle Industries, and the Belle W. Baruch Institute for Marine & Coastal Sciences at the University of South Carolina. Andy holds a BS degree from the University of Rhode Island and an international marketing degree from Richmond College in London.

Matt Golden

President, Founder & Chief Building Scientist

Matt Golden
Matt Golden is the co-founder and president of Recurve. Prior to founding the company in 2004, Matt worked as an Energy Consultant, helping homeowners and businesses develop solar power systems. He soon realized that he was offering only a point solution and was not truly addressing most homeowners’ desires to make their homes and lives more sustainable. Matt developed the concept for Recurve to meet this market demand by providing a single, full-service resource and a brand homeowners can trust to help them improve the comfort, health, and efficiency of their home.

Matt was recently recognized by the Building Performance Institute as the first ever recipient of the Tony Woods Award for Excellence in Advancing the Home Performance Industry. He speaks extensively on building science and integrated green design to groups such as the AIA (American Institute of Architects), West Coast Green, Build It Green, and others. He is author of a number of articles for Home Energy Magazine and has been featured in the San Francisco Chronicle, USA Today, Forbes, New York Times, and the Ellen Degeneres Show. Matt currently resides on the following boards: Department of Energy (DOE) Home Performance Council, Building Performance Institute (BPI), California Building Performance Contractors Association (CBPCA), and, Fine Home Building Magazine Green Building Advisory Board, and Efficiency First.

Matt holds a bachelors degree in foreign relations from Georgetown University.

Patch (Carol) Garcia

Chief Culture Officer

Patch (Carol) Garcia
Patch (Carol) Garcia is a veteran of the Bay Area’s sustainability movement. At the onset of the dot-com, she returned to California from Manhattan where she had managed the Real Estate Lending Division of ABC television’s credit union (ABEFCU). While working in the burgeoning Internet industry, she dove head-first into the green scene by volunteering and joining organizations such as Architects, Designers, Planners for Social Responsibility, the Women’s Environmental Network and the Green Resource Center. She also served on the Board of Directors of the Sustainable Business Alliance, a non-profit organization dedicated to building a green business community.

Patch’s interest in energy and volunteer background lead her to a senior management position with Berkeley-based, Sun Light and Power. Her ability to attract top-notch employees and to grow a small construction firm into one of San Francisco’s Fastest Growing Companies is a strength that will aid in building Recurve into a national brand.

Patch is responsible for overseeing all aspects of hiring, training and cultural development. In her spare time she enjoys pottery, baking, shopping local Farmers’ Markets and camping with her family.
