Pratap Mukherjee

Pratap Mukherjee joined Recurve in early 2008 with the passionate belief that the solutions that will make the biggest impacts on our environmental crises are those that improve people’s current quality of life at the same time they preserve our natural resources. This drew him to focus his career on energy efficiency and building performance and set his goals on spreading the message that we can live more comfortably, more economically, and more sustainably all at the same time.
Pratap is a veteran CEO of high-growth entrepreneurial companies. Most recently, he co-founded and grew Beacon Fire & Safety, LP, which grew in the span of 5 years to become one of the nation’s largest fire protection service companies. As CEO, he focused on building the best team in the industry, providing the highest level of customer service, and driving growth through strategic acquisitions and the industry’s most professional sales team. Previously, Pratap was the co-founder and CEO of an Internet start-up in the automobile marketplace and Research Associate at the Center for Entrepreneurial Studies at the Stanford Graduate School of Business.
Pratap holds an MBA, an MA in Education, an MS in Engineering-Economic Systems, and a AB in Quantitative Economics, all from Stanford University. He is an active member of Vistage International, the world’s largest CEO membership organization. Pratap lives in the San Francisco Bay Area with his wife and two children.
Matt Golden
President, Founder & Chief Building Scientist

Matt Golden is the co-founder and president of Recurve. Prior to founding the company in 2004, Matt worked as an Energy Consultant, helping homeowners and businesses develop solar power systems. He soon realized that he was offering only a point solution and was not truly addressing most homeowners’ desires to make their homes and lives more sustainable. Matt developed the concept for Recurve to meet this market demand by providing a single, full-service resource and a brand homeowners can trust to help them improve the comfort, health, and efficiency of their home.
Matt was recently recognized by the Building Performance Institute as the first ever recipient of the Tony Woods Award for Excellence in Advancing the Home Performance Industry. He speaks extensively on building science and integrated green design to groups such as the AIA (American Institute of Architects), West Coast Green, Build It Green, and others. He is author of a number of articles for Home Energy Magazine and has been featured in the San Francisco Chronicle, USA Today, Forbes, New York Times, and the Ellen Degeneres Show. Matt currently resides on the following boards: Department of Energy (DOE) Home Performance Council, Building Performance Institute (BPI), California Building Performance Contractors Association (CBPCA), Build It Green, and, Fine Home Building Magazine Green Building Advisory Board, and Efficiency First.
Matt holds a bachelors degree in foreign relations from Georgetown University.
Adam Winter
Senior Vice President of Building Science & Co-Founder

Adam brings to Recurve a wealth of experience, ranging from project management to environmental restoration. He currently oversees all remediation operations and acts as lead consultant to some of the Bay Area’s top green contractors, architects, and developers.
Adam moved to San Francisco after completing a Bachelor of Science in Renewable Resource Management at University of British Columbia (UBC) and running environmental and watershed restoration projects throughout the province. Adam changed career courses upon his arrival in San Francisco to focus on project management in the technology field, implementing sales force automation systems for a world-wide sales force and managing software development for a fast paced startup.
Having returned to his environmental calling as a core member of the Recurve Team, Adam is trained in a wide range of building science disciplines. He is a certified Green Building Professional and GreenPoints Rater.
Joel Truher
Vice President of Product Development

Joel joins Recurve from Google, the world’s largest online search company, where he was engineering director. At Google, he worked on search and maps infrastructure.
Prior to Google, Joel was executive vice president at Epinions.com, where he oversaw all product development. When Epinions.com became a part of Shopping.com, Joel became chief architect and vice president of Engineering, responsible for all search and user-facing website technology. Before joining Epinions.com, Joel held the position of chief technology officer at Lycos, where he led the team responsible for search engine products and research.
Joel received his master’s degree in Electrical Engineering from Stanford University and his Bachelor of Art degree in Physics and Math from UC Santa Cruz.
Marcia Kadanoff
Vice President of Marketing

Marcia Kadanoff joined Recurve in 2009 as VP of Marketing with 20 years of experience using direct & interactive marketing to acquire customers and build brand loyalty. Most recently, she was the CMO at Zannel, a company that is on the cutting-edge of social media, with a microblogging offering that adds value to both Twitter and Facebook. At Zannel, she served as the company’s Chief Marketing Officer, where she was responsible for developing the company’s monetization strategy and driving all customer acquisition efforts including social media, SEO/SEM, and local marketing. Prior to Zannel, she served as the VP of Marketing at Mobio (mobile applications) and before that served as a CMO and CEO to various early-stage technology companies.
A thought leader in ROI marketing, loyalty marketing, and marketing analytics, Kadanoff founded and ran two professional services firms: Firewhite (a consulting firm) and Miller/Kadanoff Direct & Interactive (an agency). As General Manager, she built the agency to $20M in sales prior to selling it to the Interpublic Group. Marcia got her early training in marketing at Apple Computer. She has been profiled on the NBC Nightly News and in BusinessWeek and Mobile Computing magazines. Marcia is a frequent speaker at national venues including American Marketing Association, Ad:Tech, and the Direct Marketing Association.
Marcia is a graduate of Stanford University (MBA) and Harvard (BA) and a member of the Committee of 200, Forum for Women Entrepreneurs & Executives, and the Word of Mouth Marketing Association. She comes to Recurve as a former customer having worked with the company in 2006 to completely re-energize her home in San Mateo.
Patch (Carol) Garcia
Chief Culture Officer

Patch (Carol) Garcia is a veteran of the Bay Area’s sustainability movement. At the onset of the dot-com, she returned to California from Manhattan where she had managed the Real Estate Lending Division of ABC television’s credit union (ABEFCU). While working in the burgeoning Internet industry, she dove head-first into the green scene by volunteering and joining organizations such as Architects, Designers, Planners for Social Responsibility, the Women’s Environmental Network and the Green Resource Center. She also served on the Board of Directors of the Sustainable Business Alliance, a non-profit organization dedicated to building a green business community.
Patch’s interest in energy and volunteer background lead her to a senior management position with Berkeley-based, Sun Light and Power. Her ability to attract top-notch employees and to grow a small construction firm into one of San Francisco’s Fastest Growing Companies is a strength that will aid in building Recurve into a national brand.
Patch is responsible for overseeing all aspects of hiring, training and cultural development. In her spare time she enjoys pottery, baking, shopping local Farmers’ Markets and camping with her family.
Rick Pearce
General Manager for San Francisco Region

Rick Pearce has 25 years of experience working with real-estate, construction, and technology companies. With a passion for operations management, Rick joined Recurve as General Manager for San Francisco Region where he focuses on driving profitability, efficiency, and customer satisfaction.
Previously, Rick spent 10 years in executive management positions, including Vice President of Timeline Design (design/build remodeling) and Vice President of Client Services at TNS Prognostics (customer satisfaction). Other posts include positions with The Koll Company (commercial real estate), McKinsey and Co., and IBM. Rick holds an MBA from the Stanford Graduate School of Business and a BA in Engineering and Applied Sciences from Harvard University.
