Trey Muffet
Senior Home Performance Specialist

Trey is a National Home Energy Rating System (HERS) certified rater and Building Analyst Professional titled through the Building Performance Institute who has earned additional certifications in Permaculture Design, Ecological Building, and Natural Systems. His Masters of Science in Sustainable Systems was a natural extension of Trey’s passion for the environment and his experience growing up on his father’s construction sites in rural Ohio. A pioneer of the home performance industry, Trey ran operations for multiple building performance companies in Ohio, Pennsylvania, North Carolina, and South Carolina before joining Recurve. He views his role assessing the energy efficiency of people’s homes as a critical step in reducing CO2 emissions.
Jason Bowers
Home Performance Specialist

Jason is a California Home Energy Rating System (HERS) certified rater and Building Analyst Professional titled through the Building Performance Institute. His belief in the movement to reduce carbon emissions one home at a time has spurred him to test over 200 residences and help over 90 Bay area families improve the health, comfort, and energy efficiency of their homes. Jason’s prior avocation as a teacher with Teach for America, instructing youngsters in Oakland, CA, has served him well as he applies those skills to enlighten homeowners about ways to make their homes more energy efficient.
Robert Mitchell
Director of Retrofitting Operations

Robert has been a pioneer in home performance retrofitting since he established his own company, Renu, in 2003. He joined Recurve in a merger in Fall 2008. He supervises all of the retrofitting operations to ensure that all construction projects meet our high standards of quality. He studied building science with the California Building and Performance Contractors Association and is certified by the Building Performance Institute as a Building Analyst, Shell Specialist and Heating Specialist. He is also trained in Wright Suite for the Air Conditioning Contractors of America Manuals J and D, load calculations and duct design. He is a member of the ACCA and a Certified Green Building Professional.
Tom DiCandia
Project Manager

With over 20 years of management experience, Tom has been responsible for bottom-line profit in a variety of business ventures, including advertising, entertainment management, and construction management.
In 1995 as a facility maintenance director, Tom began studying and implementing alternative energy and energy conservation in property management. His technical background includes electronic, electrical, audio, plumbing, and mechanical & electrical systems. Tom’s current studies include building science, building performance testing and remediation, and environmental impact awareness.
Charles Cormany
Construction Manager

Charles joined Recurve in October 2008 after searching for a company whose mission was consistent with his personal values. Growing up in Colorado, he developed a respect for nature and always enjoyed an active outdoor lifestyle. Charles’ commitment to reducing our impact on the globe and protecting our resources for future generations made Recurve a natural fit.
Charles was introduced to the concept of home performance while working as a producer for a home improvement television show. As part of the film industry he built a number of photo studios and worked as a set designer/builder. After several years in the film industry, Charles made a career transition and now oversees the North Bay construction division of Recurve. He is responsible for running crews, working closely with the San Francisco main office and supervising retrofit jobs all over the Bay Area.
Charles holds a BA in Photography from the Brooks Institute in Santa Barbara.
John Neal
Construction Manager

While John Neal worked towards earning his BA in English Literature, he immersed himself in numerous projects that reflected his commitment to conservation and people, including farming at the local CSA farm, coursework emphasizing sustainable building and design, and a collaborative project with a physics professor to design and live in a sustainable urban home.
After graduating with honors he began working for Recurve in 2006 as a crew member with the lifetime goal of finding a job that fed his commitment to constant learning and overcoming challenges, helping people, and improving the environment in which we live.
As Construction Manager, John works with construction crews and clients to build and repair homes with the dedication to provide sustainable, well-built solutions.
