Sustainable Spaces Recognized as High Growth Company by SF Business Times

COMPANY RANKED 16th AMONG TOP 100 FASTEST GROWING PRIVATE COMPANIES IN THE BAY AREA

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

SAN FRANCISCO, CA — November 3, 2008 — Sustainable Spaces, a San Francisco-based home performance contractor and national leader in the growing field of home health and energy efficiency, today announced that the company was ranked 16th among the San Francisco Business Times’ Top 100 Fastest Growing Private Companies in the Bay Area. “The Fast 100”, now in its 17th year of publication, surveys Bay Area companies to find the most innovative and inspiring privately owned firms who have shown the highest fiscal growth rates.

The San Francisco Business Times surveyed more than 1,600 firms this year for the 100 Fastest Growing Companies List. Those chosen as the Top 100 demonstrated significant growth and were ranked according to their revenue growth between 2005 and 2007. Cumulatively, the 100 companies listed represent $4.041 billion in revenue and more than 11,311 Bay Area jobs.

The San Francisco Business Times reported that cleantech and green businesses were a significant presence on this year’s list, and that Sustainable Spaces’ ranking in the top 20 emphasizes its prominence in these fields. George Khalaf, the San Francisco Business Times researcher responsible for compiling “The Fast 100”, said the favorable ranking “says a lot about what Sustainable Spaces is doing as a company.”

The company, which specializes in applying the most advanced methods in building science to conduct home energy audits and retrofit projects that improve the energy efficiency, health and comfort of homes, joined other prominent green and cleantech companies like Sun Light and Power, Borrego Solar, and Energy Recovery, Inc., on this year’s list.
“Because of our high quality service and compelling value proposition to homeowners interested in saving money, improving health, and reducing their carbon footprint, the growth we’ve experienced has been driven by happy clients telling their friends and neighbors,” said Sustainable Spaces co-founder and President Matt Golden “I couldn’t be more satisfied with the word-of-mouth response we’ve gotten from clients.”

“Our increasing annual growth demonstrates how we are improving the energy efficiency and health of more and more homes, and improving the lives of so many families,” added Adam Winter, co-founder and Vice President of Operations. “We are able to meet these demands because of the excellent pool of employees here in the Bay Area. We hire people who have a passion to curb global warming, a desire to improve the lives of our customers, and superior skills. We have never had to compromise our hiring standards to accommodate growth.”
