Can I use Recurve Software in the field without an internet connection?

Absolutely. Recurve Software is built to support auditors in the field with no Internet connection. Once you've completed an audit and are back in the office, you can upload the data onto your company server, so you're able to access it from anywhere with an Internet connection.

How does Recurve Software save me time and money?

Let's break it down into the various areas that we help your business in:

Streamlined data collection

  • Pre-defined house templates to save time on double entry
  • Only enter the data that you need to (but you have the flexibility to enter more data if you want)
  • Seamless back-end database supports different climate zones, building types, HVAC systems, and construction characteristics – so you can simply choose the right option from drop-down lists
  • Help buttons throughout the software if you're ever stuck or confused about features or how to perform measurements
  • Checks for errors as you go, to help you avoid mistakes that result in costly return trips

Optimized savings predictions

  • Enter potential improvements on the fly while they are top of mind as you collect data
  • Instantly compare multiple solution packages and evaluate how energy savings match up to improvement costs
  • Use the true-up dashboard to manage hourly simulation and increase the accuracy of your energy models

Polished reports and proposals

  • Generate professional reports and detailed proposals on-site
  • Leave a contract with your customer instead of waiting for a follow-up visit

All this adds up to

  • Completing more energy audits per week
  • Increasing your conversion rate, turning more audits to retrofits
  • Time to focus on what really counts – identifying your customers' needs, designing smart solutions, and getting new business on the books

Plus, Recurve offers professional services to help your business succeed.

What are the technical requirements for running Recurve Software?

Your data is hosted in the cloud, so there are no centralized servers for you to buy, install or manage. Recurve Software runs on any standard laptop or netbook capable of running Firefox, Chrome, or Internet Explorer 8/9 browsers with Adobe Flash and Java.

Constant connection to the Internet isn't required either, so you can collect data, run simulations, and present reports and proposals to your customers on-site and upload your data later when an Internet connection is available.

We recommend running Recurve Software on:
CPU/Memory: Intel Atom N550-based tablet/netbook; 2GB RAM; OS: Windows 32-bit or Linux. The most recent versions of Adobe Flash (currently 10.1) and Java (currently 1.6_22)

Can I use it in my climate/location?

Recurve Software uses the zip code and utility bill data you enter to identify weather data from our back-end database. We support almost all climates – except for hot/humid (which we are currently testing out).

Where has Recurve Software been approved for use?

Recurve Software is DOE BESTEST compliant and RESNET BESTEST approved. We have also gained compliance in these areas from several regional programs:

  • California: Energy Upgrade California (only in the PG&E service territory)
  • Colorado: Snugg Home Colorado
  • New York: Green Jobs Green New York (NYSERDA)
  • Pennsylvania: Energy Coordinating Agency
  • Virginia: Northern Virginia Home Performance with Energy Star
  • Washington: Puget Sound Energy

We are actively working with many major programs and agencies to gain approval. If you are a contractor that wants us in your area, let your program know. And if you're a program that wants to use Recurve Software, we want to hear from you!

How does Recurve work with utility programs, local governments, and other energy programs?

We help programs reduce their risk through accurate simulations, reach their energy saving goals through higher conversion rates and less marketing dollar spend, and make it easy to submit data. For more on programs, click here.

How long does it take to do an energy audit with Recurve Software?

It varies of course, but if you are using house templates, you will see a dramatic difference in your speed of data collection, as well as reporting, simulation, and scoping out a proposal. Our customers typically complete audits in around 3 hours.

What if I don’t need to perform every single performance measurement for a fully comprehensive audit

You can choose between simple and advanced views in several screens, giving you the flexibility to enter less or more data as you see fit.

Are your reports customizable?

Yes, you can choose which report pages to include, customize all of the text content for every page, and easily upload photos. You can also create your own pages (currently limited to text only). Unfortunately, we aren't able to replicate your old report exactly.

Can I perform BPI-compliant tests with Recurve Software?

Recurve will seek BPI Software compliance once those requirements have been released.  Until then, Recurve provides BPI testing sheets with step by step instructions for completing the BPI required field test.

Do you provide training on the software?

Recurve Software is very intuitive to use, but we provide a few types of training to make sure you're getting the most out of the software:

  • Help buttons all throughout, in case you're ever stuck or confused about features or how to perform measurements
  • Short videos demonstrating specific features in the software
  • 3 hour on-boarding training that covers all your questions on data collection, simulation, and report and proposal generation, plus customization and administrative functions

How long does it take to get up and running on Recurve Software?

Usually within a week. Once you sign on to be a Recurve customer, we spin up your company server, upload your brand assets (such as your logo), and take you through an on-boarding training that'll help you hit the ground running with Recurve Software.

What other sorts of services do you offer to help my business be more successful?

Recurve also offers professional services such as maximizing auditing efficiency, solution selling for home performance, and more. We want to use our six years of on-the-ground experience to help your business succeed.

What kind of support do you offer?

We offer email services for free and phone support services for an additional charge. You will hear back from us within a half hour to confirm we received your support request, and within a day with a status update.
