California faces a looming 4.4GW peak shortfall that threatens the summer reliability of the grid. In response to Governor Newsom’s Summer Reliability Emergency Proclamation to address this crisis, the California Public Utilities Commission (CPUC) unanimously approved a Statewide “Market Access” program for demand flexibility, based specifically on Recurve’s FLEXmarket.

In Part 2 of his Sonoma County TEDx talk, Recurve CEO Matt Golden explains how, in addition to helping the state decarbonize and fix its looming grid crisis, the FLEXmarket approach encourages market innovation, supports local jobs, and helps customers reduce energy costs while improving building comfort, air quality, and resiliency.
