Recurve is excited to welcome Matt Burton as Vice President of Sales and Business Development.

A passionate enthusiast for all things energy and a well-traveled pioneer across the world of utility innovation, Matt Burton joins the Recurve team to continue his mission of evangelizing for sustainability, decarbonization, and equity across the globe.

Legend has it that upon hearing Recurve CEO Matt Golden give an impassioned speech on Recurve’s vision, Matt immediately realized the value of levelizing assets across power markets from the plant to the meter. Now a part of the team, Matt spends his days working to create a cohesive and holistic approach to revolutionizing energy systems.

Prior to joining Recurve, Matt feasted on a smorgasbord of delicious energy trends across engineering, market analytics, and business development. He began his professional journey at Siemens Energy while completing his Master’s degree in Mechanical Engineering.

Not satisfied with just commissioning high-efficiency combined cycle power plants, he felt the need to design them as well. Further leveraging his enthusiasm for engaging with utilities and their partners, along with his newly acquired MBA, Matt embarked on a mission to bring asset and market analytics to the forefront of large and small scale power generation development.

Matt went on to explore the demand side management space as part of the Opower team at Oracle Utilities, delivering crucial energy and capacity savings, as well as innovative experiences for energy customers, across the southern US.

When he’s not engrossed in the job, Matt spends his time being best buds with his four-year-old, noodling on the guitar, trying to maintain amateur status in martial arts, and working to become the world’s most mediocre golfer.
